BOOKING PROCEDURE

  • The Swedenborg Society recommends arranging a visit before booking a space. To book a viewing call 0207 405 7986 ext. 1 (Main Office)
  • Confirm the booking in writing via the above hire form.
  • Upon receipt of the above hire form The Swedenborg Society will issue a confirmation invoice via email. Beyond this point the booking will be considered binding and we respectfully ask that payment is processed upfront in full.

SHORT-NOTICE BOOKINGS

  • Hire forms submitted less than 2 weeks from the hire date are considered short-notice bookings.
  • Upon receipt of the above hire form The Swedenborg Society will issue a confirmation invoice via email. Beyond this point the booking will be considered binding and we respectfully ask that payment is processed upfront in full.
  • Please note that short-notice bookings are strictly non-refundable in the event of a subsequent cancellation.

PAYMENT METHODS

  • Payment can be made via cheque or online bank transfer. Our bank account number and sort code will be detailed on the confirmation invoice.
  • Alternatively payment can be made over the telephone via credit or debit card. We accept all major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellation must be received at least 2 weeks prior to the hire date in order to qualify for a refund (less 10% administration charge).
  • If cancellation is received less than 2 weeks prior to the hire date then the booking will be considered forfeit and non-refundable.

SPECIAL TERMS

  • A discount of 50% is available for registered charities, not-for-profit companies and educational institutions.
  • A discount of 10% is available for serial bookings if ten sessions or more are paid in one payment. [Please note that we are unable to offer the 10% serial bookings discount in conjunction with the aforementioned 50% discount].

LIMITATIONS

  • We do not book on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
  • The Swedenborg Society does not let space to religious or political groups.
  • The Society does not let space for musical auditions or rehearsals during business hours (9:00am – 6:00pm).
  • Spaces are hired as seen, including the kitchen.
  • Rearrangement of furniture is the responsibility of the hirer and at the Society’s discretion.  The space must be returned to its previous state by the end of the session.
  • Washing-up is the responsibility of the hirer.
  • Under no circumstances are items to be left on the premises.
  • Photographic images or video/film cannot be made on the the Society’s premises without prior consent of The Swedenborg Society.

REGULATIONS

  • Any damage to the premises within or without, caused in or by the occupation, must be paid for by the hirer.
  • The Swedenborg Society reserves to itself the right of entry during occupation.
  • The kitchen may be hired but arrangements for catering and refreshments are subject to the approval of the Society.
  • The Society is not able to accept responsibility for items left unaccompanied anywhere on the premises.
  • Under no circumstances are hirer’s items to be stored on the premises in their absence.

IN THE EVENT OF FIRE: EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

  • Raise the alarm. Evacuate the premises.

EMERGENCY EXITS

  • Swedenborg Hall: Emergency exit doors are located at the rear of the Hall. They are clearly marked FIRE EXIT with direct access to Barter Street. They should only be opened in the event of an emergency.
  • David Wynter Room: Emergency exit is down the main staircase and out through the EXIT doors to Barter Street.
  • The muster point in case of evacuation is on the south-west corner of Bloomsbury Square.

CONCIERGE

  • A concierge will be present and available for all hirers. The concierge will also help with the use of audio/visual equipment and other amenities for hire.
