Description

Styk duse s telem, tr. Martin Krejza (2002)
O bílém koni v Apokalypse, tr. Lenka Máchová (2002)

Mankind has always sought to understand how ideas can be gained by the mind through the body’s experience, and how the soul enters the mind. Written in response to Descartes and Christian Wolff, Swedenborg outlines his own views on this subject and how they differ from the philosophical ideas of his day.

White Horse is largely drawn from Arcana Caelestia and, in part, might be understood as a kind of brochure serving as an introduction to this work. Its theme is that of the spiritual sense of the Word. It contains one of the three statements in the published works that names the books of the Bible that Swedenborg says have an inner sense. The ‘White Horse’ is mentioned in chapter 19 of the Book of Revelation.
