[Gary] Lachman identifies all the roles Swedenborg inhabited (spiritual thinker, biblical scholar, psychic, scientist, inventor, statesman, theologian, traveller and possibly even spy) and does an exceptionally thorough job of suggesting why this little known polymath deserves more substantial critical attention.
