Swedenborg House is a beautiful Grade II listed 18th century townhouse, situated conveniently in literary Bloomsbury, central London, close to the British Museum. Three of our function rooms are available for hire including a neo-classical lecture hall and two library meeting rooms. Described by the Guardian as one of the most atmospheric venues in London, our roooms are available for a variety of uses including: lectures, conferences, film screenings, business meetings, performances, seminars and rehearsals.

This gracious, groundfloor lecture hall accommodates up to 100 people in a grand, neo-classical atmosphere. The antique wooden chairs and oak flooring add flexibility to the space and a Boston Steinway upright piano is also available for hire. The recent upgrade/refurbishment now includes:

High ceilings and natural light make the Wynter Room ideal for smaller lectures and committee meetings. This room contains the Swedenborg Collection of the Society's library, display cabinets and key items from the Society's collection of museum artefacts. The room also features:

This beautiful book-lined study serves as an archive and library. Convenient to the kitchen facility, this room is suitable for more intimate meetings. Seats no more than 20 people. Projectors, screens and whiteboards are available to hire for an additional charge.
Hirers please note that access to rooms is from the start time of the session hired only. If you require time to set-up or prepare please factor this into the start time of your meetings.
