Getting There
Entrance to all hired spaces is on Barter Street off Bloomsbury Way.Closest Tube Station: Holborn (4 minutes) or Tottenham Court Road (6 minutes).Access for the Disabled must be arranged in advance.Limited Pay and Display parking is available and an underground car-park is close by beneath Bloomsbury Square.
Limitations
We do not book on Sundays, bank holidays or alternating Saturdays.The Swedenborg Society does not let space to religious groups.The Society does not let space for musical auditions or rehearsals during business hours.The Swedenborg Hall is not suitable for events requiring extensive catering.Spaces are hired as seen, including the kitchen. Rearrangement of furniture is the responsibility of the hirer and at the Society’s discretion. The space must be returned to its previous state by the end of the session. Washing-up is the responsibility of the Hirer.
Regulations
- No booking is binding until the amount agreed has been paid in full.
- Two weeks’ notice of cancellation is required to qualify for a refund (less £5.00 administration charge).
- Any damage to the premises within or without caused in or by the occupation must be paid for by the Hirer.
- The Swedenborg Society reserves to itself the right of entry during occupation.
- The kitchen may be hired for £3.00, but arrangements for refreshments are subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Society.
- The Hirer is required to close the outer door once their party has entered and departed from the premises.
- The Society is not able to accept responsibility for items left unaccompanied anywhere on the premises.
- No Hirer’s goods may be stored on the premises in their absence.
- Seven days’ notice is required to book.
- SMOKING ON THE PREMISES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

The Swedenborg Society recommends arranging a visit before booking space.
Booking Procedure
- Ring in advance and make a pencil-booking on (020) 7405 7986.
- Confirm a pencil-booking in writing by e-mail, fax or post.
- When the Society receives written confirmation an invoice will be posted.
- Payment is expected seven days in advance.
- No booking is binding until the amount agreed has been paid in full.
- Doors are opened 15 minutes prior to the agreed start time of the session.
- Emergency Procedures
In the event of FIRE:
- Raise the alarm.
- Evacuate the premises.
Emergency Exits:
- The Swedenborg HallEmergency exit doors are located at the rear of the Hall, clearly marked FIRE EXIT, with direct access to Barter Street. They should be opened only in the event of an emergency.
- The David Wynter RoomEmergency exit is down the main staircase and exit to Barter Street.
- The F A Gardiner RoomEmergency exit doors are located at the rear of the room, clearly marked FIRE EXIT, into area and up stairs to Barter Street.
