Additional Note to The Mortal Remains of Emanuel Swedenborg

by J Vilh Hultkrantz

Synopsis
This paper contains information about the posthumous fate of Swedenborg’s skull or should that be skulls?! It is generally believed that Swedenborg had his skull stolen and swapped for a ringer and that then this ringer was stolen too, before later being replaced. It was only after Swedenborg’s remains had been transported back to Uppsala in 1908 and after Hultkrantz had written his The Mortal Remains of Emanuel Swedenborg, that someone emerged with a new skull, claiming it to be the original stolen skull of Swedenborg. In this illustrated pamphlet, Hultkrantz examines the new evidence.
